About Kate Hua

Hi! I’m Kate Hua, a freelance photographer based in the San Francisco Bay Area.

Previously, I worked as the 2025 Photography Associate at the Washington Nationals and have worked with the Washington Spirit, San Diego Wave, Cal Athletics, and the Capital One Orange Bowl.

I graduated from the University of Michigan with a Bachelor of Science in Architecture in 2024. I was the 2023 Managing Photo Editor for The Michigan Daily, the university’s independent student-run newspaper. I also was a staff photographer at the Michiganensian Yearbook.

I am available for assignment, and am pursuing new opportunities in sports photography.
